South-West Delhi Police intercepted auto lifter while maintaining Republic Day security

“In view of the upcoming Republic Day and alerts made in this regard, all the beat staff has been briefed and sensitised to keep a strict vigil over the area/vulnerable places. The patrolling in the area has been enhanced round the clock with the specific tasks,” Gaurav Sharma, DCP, South-West District, New Delhi, said.
He added, “During this course round the clock efforts is being made. A team comprising of Sub Inspector Suresh and Constable Aas Karan, led by Inspector Neeraj Chaudhary, who is also SHO of Vasant Kunj South police Station, in overall supervision of Ajay Vedwal, ACP, Vasant Kunj intercepted one two-wheeler. The rider was identified as 22-year-old Chaten, Son of Vishnu Dev and resident of Shanti Kunj.”
On checking the two-wheeler in his possession, it was found stolen from police station Vasant Kunj South area. The accused has been arrested in the present case.
During the sustained interrogation of the accused, it has been revealed that the accused used to commit theft of two-wheelers from Delhi & NCR area and disposed the same to one Phool Meena native of Rajasthan. Three cases of motor vehicle theft of Vasant Kunj South has been worked out so far. One stolen motorcycle has been recovered.
The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are on to nab the receiver of the stolen vehicles. Further involvement of the accused is being ascertained.
