Sonia Vihar police in North East Delhi solved attempt to murder case in 24 hours

On February 9, 2022, a PCR call regarding the stabbing of a person at 1st Pusta, Sonia Vihar was received at PS Sonia Vihar. Immediately, the police team reached the spot and found that the injured had already been shifted to JPC Hospital by PCR Van.
“On preliminary inquiry, it surfaced that injured namely Krishana, resident of Loni Ghaziabad was having some monetary issues with Aakash Gupta. At around 4:30 PM, Aakash Gupta along with his 2-3 associates caught Krishna at the latter’s relative’s shop in Sonia Vihar and took him towards Yamuna Khadar side,” Sanjay Kumar Sain, DCP, North-East District, said.
He added, “There both had an altercation and Aakash Gupta stabbed Krishna multiple times. On chasing by the locals Aakash and his associates fled the spot. Accordingly, on the basis of the complaint, a case was registered and the investigation was taken up.”
During the course of the investigation a police team comprising SI Amit, HC Devender, Const. Ashish and Const. Sunil with the technical assistance of ASI Bijender and under the supervision of SHO/Sonia Vihar, put up their best efforts in nabbing the accused person.
While investigating the case, the police team deployed technical surveillance and collected human intelligence from its sources. While on the run Aakash switched off his mobile phone to avoid detection by the police team.
On the basis of CDR, it was revealed that the accused had recharged a mobile number by using the PayTM from his old mobile number. With the help of a newly recharged mobile number police team traced and zeroed in his location in the area of New Usmanpur.
On the basis of secret information, a raid was conducted and Aakash was arrested from the area of Zero Pusta, DDA Flats on 11.02.22 at around 00:30 AM.
On examination, his identity was established as Aakash Gupta, a resident of Gautampuri Delhi. He confessed to his crime and revealed that he used to bet money on cricket matches. He was a guarantor for Krishana in betting on matches during Under-19, Cricket World cup. After a loss of Rs. 30 thousand Krishna denied to pay.
“To settle a score, Aakash stabbed him. On his instance, the knife used in the commission of the crime was recovered from the bushes near Chauhan Patti Village. On sustained interrogation, he revealed the name of his associates as Ravi and Ballu. Sincere efforts are on to nab the absconding Ravi and Ballu. Further investigation of the case is under progress,” DCP Sain said.
