Sonam Kapoor channels an Enticing Apsara in her Maternity Photoshoot

It’s Sonam Kapoor, she does not do conventions. So what, if she's just wearing a Saree, she will find infinite ways to drape it around. For an actor who is synonymous with Fashion, we anticipated that her Maternity Look, like all her other apparel, won’t be conventional. In a minimal Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s White Saree, which belongs to her mother, Sonam appeared as an enticing Apsara. The saree’s minimalism was accentuated subtly by the shiny-white pearls that found a mansion at the saree's edges. The saree, at the torso, opened into a dramatic slit, adding a subtle edginess to the entire look. Keeping her eyes dramatic, Sonam heralded the iconic wing eyeliner from 70s Bollywood.

For her hairdo, Kapoor did a middle partition, her hair seamlessly transforming into voluminous curls as they rebegan to appear as curls towards the end. A heavy, embellished necklace gave her ensemble a regal angle. As Rhea Kapoor, Sonam’s sister and stylist called the look, “Desi Aphrodite”, we couldn't agree more. With opulence and sensuality amalgamated, Sonam’s maternity photoshoot is set to start trends.

The entire look was donned well with a background straight out of an ancient Palace. In contemporary Warli Paintings, Larger than life Candle stands, and a Copper-Lion showpiece, the entire background played a vital role in ensuring that the pictures, as Kapoor’s husband Anand Ahuja said, looked straight out of a timeless painting.
