Sonali Phogat Murder Case : Charge sheet filed in Sonali Phogat murder case, 2 people accused

In the Sonali Phogat death case, both the Goa Police and the CBI had carried out investigations from Goa to Hisar, Rohtak and Gurugram in Haryana. Sudhir Sangwan was accused of murder by Sonali's sister and family members. Sonali Phogat died on the night of 22-23 August.

Sonali Phogat Murder Case : Charge sheet filed in Sonali Phogat murder case, 2 people accused

CBI has filed charge sheet in Sonali Phogat murder case. Sonali died under suspicious circumstances at Curlies Bar in Goa. PA Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder were accused of forcibly drugging and killing them. Both were also arrested at that time on the charges of Sonali's murder and now the CBI has filed a charge sheet against both.

The case was earlier investigated by the Goa Police. After that the case was handed over to the CBI. The charge sheet was filed in the court of Goa on Monday. The CBI had interrogated Sangwan and Sukhwinder Singh, who were arrested in the case, in the Colvale Jail. The CBI has also examined the documents of the Goa Police, which run into over 500 pages. The statements of the witnesses have also been recorded in it. The CBI also recreated the crime scene, Curlies, where Phogat was allegedly drugged.

In the Sonali Phogat death case, both the Goa Police and the CBI had carried out investigations from Goa to Hisar, Rohtak and Gurugram in Haryana. Sudhir Sangwan was accused of murder by Sonali's sister and family members. Sonali Phogat died on the night of 22-23 August.

Following the request of the Haryana Chief Minister and the demand of the Khap Mahapanchayat, the Goa government transferred the Phogat murder case to the CBI. Sonali Phogat's daughter Yashodhara Phogat also demanded a CBI inquiry. Yashodhara had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this.
