Sonakshi Sinha was born on June 2, 1987, to Shatrughan Prasad Sinha and Poonam Sinha in Mumbai and completed her schooling at Arya Vidya Mandir and later decided to do fashion design program at Premlila Vithaldas Polytechnic of Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University.

At first, Sonakshi Sinha was a fashion designer, she designed clothes for the famous film Mera Dil Leke Dekho (2005).

Sonakshi Sinha was a fashion designer till 2010 after she made her first appearance in the film Dabangg which was the highest-earning film of 2010 and also marked her breakthrough in the film industry.

Then in 2012, she released four films including Rowdy Rathore directed by Prabhu Deva's alongside Akshay Kumar which was another success, opening on the first day at the box office with ₹150.6 million.

However, Rowdy Rathore her other two films Joker (2012) and Son of Sardaar were not that much of a success, the film Joker got many bad impressions from fans but Son of Sardaar didn’t make much impression but was an economic success.

The release of Dabangg 2 also did not get much praise from the audience, but it did very well at the box office.

In 2013 she appeared in 3 films Once Upon a Time, Bullett Raja, R... Rajkumar, and all three of them didn’t get much praise from the audience and also did not perform well at the box office.

However, 2014 was a little better for her as her Tamil films Lootera, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty and Action Jackson although received mixed reviews, were a success both from the critics and at the box office.

Sonakshi Sinha became well-known in 2015 for her role in Boney Kapoor's remake of Okkadu, Tevar. Also, another remake of the Tamil film Mouna Guru (2011) was a box office success and earned over 33 crore for the second time.

Even the film Force 2 was also a box office success and earned around 58 crores.

However, from 2017 to 2022, she appeared in many films including Noor, Mission Mangal, and Dabangg 3 which received a lot of praise and also was a box office success.

Sinha became famous in 2023 when she played a leading role in the film Dahaad which won her the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Actress Critics.
