Skanda Sashti July 2024: Skanda Sashti is observed on the sixth day of the Shukla Paksha in the Ashadha month in the Hindu calendar. Skanda Sashti is also known as the Kanda Shashti and the day is dedicated to Lord Murugan also known as Lord Skanda or Kartikeya.

Skanda Sashti is one of the most important festivals of Hindus and worshipping the Lord Kartikeya is believed to bring prosperity, happiness, courage, and victory.

This month, Skanda Sashti is observed on Sashti Tithi of Shukla Paksha which is on July 11. The Sashti Tithi starts at 10:03 am on July 11 and ends at 12:32 pm on July 12.

• Devotees should wake up early and take a bath to remove all negativity.
• Then clear all your rooms and altar before sitting for Puja.
• After that bring the idol of Lord Murugan and place it in the flat platform.
• For offering devotees should prepare a plate full of seasonal fruits such as bananas, coconut, and also a glass full of water.
• Then light a diya along with desi ghee and chant prayers and mantras to the ideal of Lord Murugan.
• Visit the temple of Lord Murugan, offer fruits and flowers and pray to the lord.
• Devotees can break their fasting in the evening.
