China has said on Tuesday that the situation along its border with India is "stable". Earlier, India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said that there was a clash between the two sides in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang last week. China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said- "In our understanding, the situation at the China-India border is overall stable.
The two sides have maintained unabated dialogue on the border issue through diplomatic and military means." Wenbin did not comment on the alleged clash on Tuesday. He told the reports- "As far as we understand - the overall situation on the China-India border is stable." China has appealed to New Delhi to, "Insist on implementing the necessary consensus reached between the two leaders, stick to the spirit of the agreement, and jointly maintain peace and stability in the China-India border area."
