A court in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budh Nagar district on Friday rejected the bail application of Shrikant Tyagi. As per the order of the court, Special Judge (Gangster Act) of District and Sessions Court Rannvijay Pratap Singh rejected the bail plea. Tyagi's lawyer Sushil Bhati has confirmed the dismissal of the bail plea.
The Noida Police had arrested 34-year-old Tyagi from Meerut on August 9 and booked him under the Gangster Act and the Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. Apart from the Gangster Act, Tyagi was also booked for cheating on his cars for using stickers and emblems of the state government, which are issued only to members of the assembly. Tyagi was described as a BJP office-bearer. However, the party had denied ties with him.
