Pakistan may have been eliminated from the 2021 T20 World Cup after losing the semi-final, but their journey to the knockout stage was perfect. Babar Azamled's team won every match in the tournament, until Australia beat them by five wickets on Thursday in Dubai. One of the superstars of the Pakistan cricket team was Mohammad Rizwan. The wicket-keeper batsman scored 281 points in 6 games, destroying three and a half centuries in the tournament. He is also the second best player in the 2021 T20 World Cup after his captain Babar Azam (303 races).
Rizwan also brought his best form to the semi-finals. He scored with a 52ball 67, assisted by 4 sixes and 3 borders, while Pakistan set an ambitious goal of 177 points for the Australians. Although his punch was overshadowed by Matthew Wade's heroism, Rizwan's dedication and sportsmanship was highly commendable.
Before the semi-final, Rizwan suffered the flu and spent two nights in an intensive care bed in Dubai. He reportedly developed a severe lung infection and needed medical attention. Former rhythm legend Shoaib Akhtar took to Twitter and shared a photo of the 29-year-old hospitalized. "Can you imagine this guy playing for his country today and doing his best. He's been in the hospital for two days. Great respect @ iMRizwanPak.Hero," Akhtar tweeted.
