Shashi Tharoor Joins Modi Govt’s Anti-Terror Delegation Amid ‘Lakshman Rekha’ Row
The government has approached MPs from more than one party, including opposition party MPs to allow them to take part in the diplomatic course.

Shashi Tharoor, Congress leader and Congress's response to "Lakshman Rekha" warning just a day before, has been disclosed as one of the members of all-party delegation travelling to various countries next week to sanctions Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on a global stage.
The all party delegation being sent by Centre is part of a big offensive by the Government against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism on a global platform, after "Operation Sindoor", that was initiated after the terror strike in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The government has approached MPs from more than one party, including opposition party MPs to allow them to take part in the diplomatic course. Several parties have already given their acceptance to send their representatives, PTI reported.

The report added while the exact number of delegations and participants is unclear, leaders estimate over 30 MPs would participate.
The delegations will be travelling to various countries for 10 days. MPs will be arranged in different groupings according to the regions as decided by the government. from different regions, The MPs will be assigned groups identified by broader regions by the government.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will hold a detailed briefing before they depart with MPs for their public diplomacy.The MEA will brief the MPs before they travel to their foreign and toward the countries for their missions.
Members of Parliament from parties such as BJP, Congress, TMC, DMK, NCP (SP), JDU, BJD, CPI(M), and other parties will be part of the Delegation, officials told PTI.
One leader of a party that was sounded out for the exercise said they were advised to prepare to leave by May 22-23 for a period of 10 days and that the MEA would get in touch with them to provide all the relevant details including the itinerary, the news agency reported.

Sources told PTI that a number of members from the ruling party would join the delegations, including former Union minister Anurag Thakur and BJP MP from Odisha, Aparajita Sarangi.
There were at least four Congress MPs—Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Salman Khurshid, and Amar Singh—that had also made it to the government's list, and the party has confirmed its participation, the sources said.
Other MPs that are being considered include Sudip Banyopadhyay (TMC), Sanjay Jha (JDU), Sasmit Patra (BJD), Supriya Sule (NCP-SP), K Kanimozhi (DMK), John Brittas (CPI-M), and Asaduddin Owaisi (AIMIM), the sources told PTI.
Although the government has not made an official comment regarding the delegations, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh told PTI that Union minister Kiren Rijiju had discussed the issue with the Congress.
