The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange slipped 1017 points to end at 54,303, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 16,202 with a loss of 276 points.

Stocks you should watch today include Coal India, Vedanta, IndInfravit, GlaxoSmithKline Pharma, J&K Bank, Future Supply Sales Solution, Aban Assure, Bajaj Auto, Berger Paints, Hindustan Zinc, IDBI Bank, Laurus Labs. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 2.73%.
European stocks fell 2.7% on Friday on worries about rising inflation in the US, raising the prospect of a recession as central banks could intervene.
