Shami Scores unbeaten Half-century, India Lead By 259 Runs

London: Fine unbeaten half-century by Mohammed Shami (not out 52) and sensible batting by Jasprit Bumrah (not out 30)  put India in a position where they can dictate terms in the last two sessions on the fifth day in the second Test match against England. Both Indian batsmen have added 77 runs for the unbroken ninth-wicket partnership. At Lunch, the Indian score was 286 for 8 and lead by 259 runs. Shami and Bumrah surprised everyone with their batting, Shami completed his half-century with a six-over mid-wicket off Moeen Ali. He faced 67 balls and hit 5 fours and 1 six. Bumrah played with confidence and gave a stand to Shami while facing 58 balls, hit 2 fours.

India started the last day with an overnight score of 181 for 6. Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma could not play long innings. Pant got out for 22 and Ishant for16. Both became the victim of fast bowler Robinson. They contributed 19 runs for the 7th wicket.
