Shahid Kapoor Says Jab We Met’s Aditya & Geet Would Divorce: Despite the fact that Jab We Met-a romantic comedy released in 2007-and cast its spell, the ministrations of the director, Imtiaz Ali-a pessimistic about a "happy ending"-and the male lead actor know that the character of Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) and Geet (Kareena Kapoor) are probably "at a divorce lawyer's office" now. In an interview with Indian Express, Shahid supported Imtiaz's assertion that Geet and Aditya would have gone "to the divorce lawyer" nowadays.

What Shahid said

“That’s actually a fun idea that Geet and Aditya are now breaking up because they are frustrated with each other. Aditya is like, ‘She is her own favourite, who can ever put up with her?” said Shahid. JA grand re-release of Jab We Met happened last year, where a host of fans witnessed Aditya and Geet's love story on the big screen again.

Shahid emphasized that, although he does not wish to disappoint the fans, he is following the director's vision. “If our filmmaker thinks these two will divorce each other, then who am I to come in between? I am just an actor,” he said.

It is interesting that Jab We Met came out at the time of the break-up of its lead pair; actress Kareena had started to date her now-husband Saif Ali Khan after a long love affair with Shahid.

After their break-up and the film Jab We Met, the two acted together in Abhishek Chaubey's 2016 Udta Punjab but never shared screen space.

At the trailer launch of the film, they were asked if they were planning a sequel to Jab We Met. Kareena said that it should be Imtiaz who must take that call, with Shahid jesting that the director has "moved on". Kareena then added, to much amusement from Shahid, that for those longing for a sequel, there is always the DVD.

Shahid will be next seen in Deva and Vishal Bhardwaj's next. Meanwhile, Kareena is coming last in Singham Again.
