Section 144 imposed in Mumbai, Deputy Speaker rejects no-confidence motion
Mumbai Police has sounded a high alert in view of the riots by Shiv Sainiks and asked all police stations to ensure security at all political offices in the city. It has been directed that officer level police personnel should visit each political office to ensure security.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is trying to save the Maha Vikas Aghadi government and the party (Shiv Sena). Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Narhari Jirwal has rejected the no-confidence motion. This has dealt a blow to the rebel group. The Eknath Shinde faction will now move the Supreme Court against it.
Shiv Sainiks have come out on the streets. In view of this, Section 144 has been imposed in Mumbai. Shiv Sena workers have created a ruckus in Pune. Rebel MLA Tannaji Sawant's office has been ransacked. The Shiv Sena chief of Pune city has said that his own workers have vandalized. He said that all the rebel MLAs and traitors, who have put party chief Uddhav Thackeray in trouble, will have to face similar action.
Shiv Sena's rebel MLA Eknath Shinde has written to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra Home Minister, DGP Maharashtra alleging that the security of the family members of 38 MLAs has been maliciously withdrawn. Meanwhile, the Thackeray faction has called a meeting of the party's national executive today. On the other hand, the police has imposed prohibitory orders till July 8 in Thane, the assembly constituency of rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. During this period, there will be a ban on bringing or carrying, storing, weapons, sticks, swords, spears, guns, sticks, or any weapon used to injure the body. Not only this, storing and preparing stones or throwing of any kind will also be prohibited. The police have also banned provocative posters.
