Sushant Singh, a well-known television and film actor, slammed Twitter and the Indian government on Wednesday for reportedly shutting his account on the microblogging site. The actor declared earlier today on his Instagram account that his Twitter identity will be restricted for a shorter amount of time.
He even posted a screenshot of his Twitter profile, which said, "Account Withheld @sushant says the account has been withheld in India in response to a court demand," after it was suspended on Wednesday morning.
The actor, who is outspoken on subjects apart from the film, lambasted the microblogging service for suspending his account without prior notice. The actor added in an Instagram post, "My Twitter account @sushant says has once again been blocked. Hey @twitter at least have the decency to send a notice."
"Thanks, @narendramodi @bjp4india @rssorg official for letting me know that I am on the right track," he said, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Gulshan Devaiah, Ashwin Mushran, and Swara Bhasker, his colleagues and actors, took notice of the situation and questioned the relevant authorities.
This isn't the first time his Twitter account has been taken away from him. Following an alleged spate of FIRs against journalists and news portals for their coverage of farmers' rallies against the three Farm Bills, many activists' accounts, including Sushant Singh's, were withheld earlier this year in February.
