Samsung 'do-it-all' smart monitor displays maximum viewing and a minimalist aesthetic
Samsung's latest launch aims to make it the number one player in the premium monitor segment (27 inches and above) in India, and it is working towards that goal.

Samsung has unveiled a 'do-it-all' smart display to adapt to the ever-changing demands of Indian Gen Z and millennials who work, study, and consume entertainment at the same time. It includes built-in OTT apps such as Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, and others, as well as support for Samsung Dex and Microsoft 365 software for work and learning.
Samsung's latest launch aims to make it the number one player in the premium monitor segment (27 inches and above) in India, and it is working towards that goal. This year, the company intends to increase its revenue from 27-inch and larger monitors from 20% to 40%. In the year 2020, it witnessed a rise of 60% in overall monitors and 40% in the premium monitor segment. And, in 2021, it aims to rise by 140% in the overall monitors' segment and by 150% in the premium segment.
"The pandemic has altered our way of life, and jobs, schooling, and entertainment have all been relegated to the home." Consumers today appreciate products that provide convenience and enable them to multitask seamlessly. We at Samsung believe in bringing significant technologies to market, and our new smart monitor is an example of this. Today, consumers no longer have to choose between different displays for different purposes because smart monitors put it all together and provide the flexibility to seamlessly switch from working and learning to entertain oneself," said Puneet Sethi, Vice President, Consumer Electronics Enterprise Business, Samsung India.
The stylish Samsung smart monitor features a three-sided borderless display that stretches from edge to edge for optimal visibility and a minimalist aesthetic. It integrates Samsung's advanced eye comfort technology to minimise pressure and allow for more relaxed and extended use. Furthermore, it provides flicker-free technology that allows the display to be used for longer periods of time with less fatigue, and the eye saver mode reduces the amount of blue light emitted.
Connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones are available on the display. Tap View, App Casting, Screen Mirroring, and Apple AirPlay2 can be used to attach users' personal mobile devices. The smart monitor runs Microsoft 365 applications without a PC (due to its WiFi embeddedness) for home office and learning, enabling users to access, edit, and save documents on the cloud directly from the monitor using a Bluetooth enabled keyboard and mouse.
Besides that, remote access enables users to wirelessly and remotely access files from a PC or display content from a laptop located anywhere in the house or at the office.
The monitor is available in two versions, starting at Rs 28,000 for the M7, which supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD) resolution in a 32-inch screen size, and the M5, which supports Full HD (FHD) resolution.
