Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple Yadav tests positive for COVID-19

Dimple Yadav tweeted about her Covid-19 status and informed her fans and followers that she has tested positive.

It is not clear whether her husband and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also underwent any test for Covid-19.

Mrs Yadav informed that when she underwent an RTPCR test for Covid-19, she came to know that she is positive. “I am fully vaccinated and I don’t have any symptoms at all. I have isolated myself for the safety of myself and others,” she informed in the tweet.

She also asked people who came in contact with her to get themselves tested so that they should also know their health status.

While Mrs Yadav is fully vaccinated, it is not known whether Akhilesh has also taken both doses of the vaccines. Earlier, he himself had made a comment in which he had said that if his father Mulayam Singh Yadav would take the jab, he would also get vaccinated.

So it is not clear whether both father and son duo have taken the vaccine.

Since assembly elections are months away in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh has been campaigning in different parts of the state. He also has a rally scheduled for December 23 in Aligarh.

It is not clear as of now that whether he would attend it or postpone it due to his wife’s Covid-19 status. However, it is expected that he would also take a test before taking a final call about the proposed rally.

Interestingly, he had said during one of the interviews that unless the photograph of the PM was not removed from the vaccine certificate, he would not take the vaccine.
