13 member countries, including India, did not participate in the UN Security Council voting on Wednesday on a draft resolution on the humanitarian crisis caused by Russia in Ukraine. After this the proposal failed at United Nations Security Council. The resolution called for an immediate peaceful settlement between Russia and Ukraine through political dialogue, negotiation, mediation and other peaceful means.
Russia has invited 15 member states to vote on its draft resolution at the United Nations Security Council. It called on citizens living in vulnerable conditions, including women and children, to be fully protected in the face of the humanitarian crisis.
It calls for a negotiated ceasefire to allow the voluntary and unhindered evacuation of civilians and stresses the need for stakeholders to agree on humanitarian stays for this purpose.
