RT-PCR test mandatory for travelers from these countries including China, Japan, Hong Kong
The Union Health Minister tweeted, 'RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand from 1 January 2023. They will have to upload their report on the Air Suvidha portal before travel.

In view of the rapidly increasing corona cases in other countries including China, Japan, South Korea, the central government has taken a big step. The Central Government has made RT-PCR test mandatory for passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand from January 1, 2023. After this order, passengers coming from these countries will now have to upload their reports on the Air Suvidha portal before traveling. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya gave this information.
The Union Health Minister tweeted, 'RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand from 1 January 2023. They will have to upload their report on the Air Suvidha portal before travel.
Union Health Minister Mandaviya said that passengers traveling from these countries are to be tested within 72 hours before coming to India. The Union Minister said that this requirement is in addition to the random two per cent tests of all international passengers on all international flights arriving in India, irrespective of the country from which they are arriving.
The government has issued an alert amid the increase in the cases of corona virus in some countries. The central government has tightened the COVID guidelines and asked the states and union territories to be prepared for any eventuality. India recorded 268 new coronavirus infections, while active cases rose to 3,552, according to the Union health ministry's data updated on Thursday. The daily infection rate in the country is 0.11 percent. At the same time, the weekly infectious rate is 0.17 percent.
