Director SS Rajamouli and actor Ram Charan have received two back-to-back awards for the superhit film RRR. According to Variety's report, Rajamouli received the Best Director award at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards. Hollywood veterans Steven Spielberg, Darren Aronofsky, Sarah Polley and Gina Prince-Blythwood were also nominated along with Rajamouli. Meanwhile, Ram Charan was also honored for his achievement in the entertainment industry Legend last night. Ram Charan played the lead role along with Junior NTR in the film RRR. 'RRR' was SS Rajamouli's first successful project after the 2017 blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. RRR was released on Netflix two months after the theatrical release. According to OTT experts, RRR (Hindi) became the most popular Indian film worldwide on Netflix in June.
'RRR' is a fictional story based on two great freedom fighters - Alluri Seethamaraju and Komaram Bheem, set in the 1920s. In this, Ram Charan and Junior NTR are seen in the lead roles. Apart from these two, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson are also in lead roles in the film. RRR was also well received by the critics.
