Rohit Sharma will be the best Test captain for India: Kevin Pietersen

After Virat Kohli’s resignation from the captaincy of the India test match team, veteran cricketers, former selectors and cricket experts are voicing their opinion in favour of those players who according to them can become the right replacement for Kohli.

While some legendary cricketers feel that R Ashwin or KL Rahul can be a good replacement, many others feel that Rohit Sharma is the right choice.

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen feels that Rohit can be an ideal choice for the test captaincy as according to him not only does he has good leadership skills but he has five IPL trophies while leading the Mumbai Indians.

While speaking to ANI on the sidelines of Legends League Cricket, Kevin Pietersen said, “Rohit Sharma will be the best Test captain for India as his leadership quality was too good and he has five IPL trophies so no one can beat him in the race of Test captaincy I guess," Pietersen told ANI

Without expressing any judgement on Kohli’s decision to leave the captaincy, Pietersen said, “Virat Kohli was a good captain but if he wants to go then that could be anyone's personal decision no one can interfere in it.”

Virat Kohli had a very successful captaincy as he led the Indian team for almost seven years. After the Indian team faced a defeat of 1-2 in a three-test match series, he surprised his fans by announcing his decision to step down from the captaincy.
