Rohit Sharma Laughs at Inquiry About Virat Kohli Strike Rate: Rohit Sharma laughed at a journalist's question about Virat Kohli's strike rate during the IPL 2024.
Rohit and BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar addressed the media at the BCCI headquarters following the announcement of the T20 World Cup squad earlier this week.
A major talking point of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) has been strike rates and how much of a role they play.
Virat Kohli, former captain of India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has held the Orange Cap for most of the season but has struggled to maintain a high strike rate consistently.

Currently, Kohli's strike rate is 147.49, which is not low.
In the wake of Kohli's selection for the Indian T20 World Cup squad, India captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector were asked about discussions about the 34-year-old's strike rate.
As Agarkar responded to Rohit's question, he couldn't help but laugh quietly.
It is unlikely that we have discussed Virat Kohli's strike rate. He has been in great form in the IPL, no concerns, according to the former fast bowler. Agarkar explained that someone with Kohli's experience would be needed in the T20 World Cup.
He added, “You are still going to a World Cup, it is international cricket and there is that gap there (with the IPL). You have got to prepare (the team) knowing that there is a gap and that’s where experience does matter a lot.”

Agarkar further said, "If the tournament turns out to be like the IPL is, where 220 is normal, we still have enough power. We can match that. There is no real point over-thinking."
"You have to look at the positives happening in the IPL. Form of the new guys, the performances. But at the end of the day, when you turn up in the World Cup, the pressure will be different."
The incident was compared to the time Kohli laughed at a journalist during the 2021 T20 World Cup when Rohit was talking about Kohli's form. Kohli was leading the Indian team at the time.
Agarkar also said that due to the conditions in the USA and West Indies, management excluded Rinku Singh and KL Rahul from the 15-member squad.
