Lalu Yadav was first treated in Patna when he fell ill and then he was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. He was discharged from AIIMS on 22 July. After reaching Patna by plane from Delhi, Lalu Yadav reached his residence. There a large number of his supporters were waiting for him. However, when he reached there, he did not meet anyone and his car went straight inside the gate.
Earlier, speaking to the press in Delhi, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav termed the BJP government at the Center as a "dictator" and talked about ousting Prime Minister Narendra Modi from power in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He made this remark when asked about the 2024 elections. This is his first remark after the 'Mahagathbandhan 2.0' government came to power in Bihar and Nitish Kumar broke the alliance with BJP and joined hands with RJD, Congress and other parties. Lalu Yadav told reporters, "We have to remove the dictatorial government (at the Centre). Modi has to be removed." When asked about BJP leader Sushil Modi's allegations targeting the new 'Mahagathbandhan' in Bihar, Lalu Prasad said, "There is a liar man. All of this is wrong.'
