India’s legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6 in the morning at the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai. She was not well for the past some time. She was being treated for Covid-19.

Her death has shocked the whole nation as every India is in love with her voice and songs. She started her journey in the 1940s and since then she ruled the heart of billions of people in India and the world with her voice.
She sang for more than six decades and over thousands of Hindi films in 36 languages. She was born on September 28, 1929, in a family of musicians. Her journey as a playback singer started in 1942 when she sang for the first time for a Marathi movie Kiti Hasaal.
She sang for many films after that but one song which gave her initial success was in 1948 whose lyrics are Dil Mera Toda, Mujhe Kahin Ka Na Chhoda. The song was composed by composer Ghulam Haider for the movie Majboor. Haider also mentored Lata as a singer.
In her career, as a playback singer, she has sung innumerable songs that went on to become super hits. They still rule the hearts of billions of people across the world.
Songs like Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya and Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo are timeless treasures for the Indian music industry. Her death has left a void in the world of music that will never be filled.
