Rekha Runs to Hug Jaya Bachchan: It is a beautiful sight to see two legendary actresses of Bollywood Rekha and Jaya Bachchan on stage together and that too at the Star Screen Awards 2015.

The occasion? Best actor – Amitabh Bachchan under the motion picture Piku. Such actions gave this event an exceptionally funny twist, capveted by Rekha offering a nice gesture to entering Jaya Bachchan.

It would be significant to note that there were some moments that the two starred as Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan stood up from their seats when the later’s name was called out as the winner in one of the Honeywell annual general meeting quiz events.

They even tried to make a drama when Amitabh was coming forward to receive the award from the chief guest, Rekha who was sitting slightly behind the screen rushed towards Jaya.

Unbelievable, disgusting for the fans and those who were present at the event; Rekha, as everyone saw, warmly embraced Jaya. The two then stood side by side, as Amitabh bowed and smile in receiving the capped award.

It was an interesting time as far as the trio of these legendary actors was concerned hitting a new dramatic high in a way in their careers.

There are few actresses who have worked with Amitabh Bachchan more often than Rekha and some of those movies did include Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Mr. Natwarlal, and Ganga Ki Saugand.

Still, the most famous work by Yash Chopra, many of whose scenes were rumored to have been inspired by the actors’ actual lives, is Silsila (1981), starring Jaya Bachchan.

Even if Silsila could not do well in the theatres, it remained a big hit in terms of being popular through some rumors of the personal life of Shashi Kapoor and Rekha, the leading actresses of the film.

This was the final time that Amitabh and Rekha shared celluloid screen earning them their place in the hall of fame of famous Bollywood couples.

To recall, in an interview with Simi Garewal when asked about her liaison with Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha herself admitted to being in love with the actor saying that her feelings were ‘passionate, insane and desperate’, however, she emphatically denied being involved with him.
