RCB Victory Parade Chaos: What should have been a moment of jubilation turned tragic in Bengaluru on Wednesday when a massive crowd gathered outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to see their cricketing heroes — the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) — following their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title victory. Unfortunately, a stampede ensued amidst the thronging crowd, resulting in the death of at least 10 people and injuring many others.
On Wednesday, people climbed trees and buses as a massive crowd met outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru trying to get a glimpse of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru stars after the team created history by being crowned champions of the Indian Premier League for the first time in 2025. Ten people died and many injured in a stampede as they attended an event outside the cricket stadium, where the felicitation event was being held for Royal Challengers Bengaluru's first Indian Premier League title win.
Fans were also seen scaling the walls of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium while the police appealed to them to leave and disperse. Bengaluru beat Punjab Kings in the final match of the tournament on Tuesday.

Deputy CM expresses grief
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar reacted to the tragedy, expressing his grief. “What was meant to be a celebration of RCB's IPL victory has turned into a tragedy, bringing deep sorrow and shock. My condolences to those who lost their lives. I offer my heartfelt sympathies to their families. Let there be love for the team, but nothing is more valuable than life. I request everyone to please stay safe," he said.
Earlier, the Karnataka government had ordered the RCB team to a celebratory event to congratulate them on achieving their first title in the IPL and ending almost 18 years' wait for the title.
