Ravi Dahiya settles For Silver, Loses Final Frontier To World Champion Uguev , Deepak Misses Bronze
Ravi won second Silver for India in Tokyo Olympics, India has got a total of five medals.

New Delhi: Indian Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya fought well against two time World champion opponent but could not win the Gold medal and has to settle for the Silver medal. Ravi has become the second Indian Wrestler, after Sushil Kumar, to win a Silver medal in Olympic Games. On Thursday Ravi lost 4-7 to two-time World Champion Zaur Uguev representing the Russian Olympic Committee team in the title clash of the men’s freestyle 57kg weight class.
Ravi Dahiya could not write the Golden history in Indian Wrestling but August 5 proved lucky for the Indian contingent participating in Tokyo Olympic Games. In the morning India’s men's hockey team won a Bronze medal and in the evening wrestler, Ravi got the Silver medal. In Tokyo, India has won a total of five medals that includes two Silver and three Bronze medals. Another Indian Wrestler Deepak Punia also lost,4-2 in a very close contest, the Bronze medal bout in 86Kg weight class.
Uguev started with one point and again got one point and when he was leading 2-0, then Ravi won two points and leveled the score 2-2 but after that Uguev got the lead of 2-5 then Uguev raced to 2-7 lead at this Ravi got two points and the scoreboard read 4-7 and that remains the final score, though Ravi tried his best but Uguev proved too good for him.
On Wednesday Ravi has confirmed at least a Silver, in the Tokyo Olympics, as he entered into the Final of men’s 57 kg FreeStyle Wrestling event. Ravi was second Indian Wrestler after Sushil Kumar to reach into the Olympic Final. Sushil Kumar won Silver Medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
In the Semi Final Ravi Dahiya came from behind against Kazakhstan’s Nurislam Sanayev, just a few seconds before the end of the second period and won on the basis of by fall.
Earlier Ravi Dahiya booked his spot in the quarterfinals with an easy 13-2 win over Colombia’s Tigreros Urbano. Then he beat Georgi Valentinov of Bulgaria by 14-4 and confirmed a place in the Semi Final.
