Ranji Trophy: MP won Ranji Trophy for the first time by defeating Mumbai

Madhya Pradesh (MP) thrashed 41-time champions Mumbai by 6 wickets to clinch the trophy for the first time on Sunday in the final match of the Ranji Trophy at the M. Chinna Swamy Stadium here.
In the second innings of the Test, Mumbai scored 269 runs in 57.3 overs for the loss of 10 wickets, where they set MP a target of 108 runs to win. The MP started chasing the target, the opening pair Himanshu Mantri and Yash Dubey. However, after scoring a run, Dubey returned to the pavilion after being clean bowled by bowler D. Kulkarni in the second over itself. After that, Shubham S Sharma came to the crease to bat and carried the innings with the minister.
The target was not so difficult for MP that the batsmen had to fight hard to win. For the second wicket, there was a 52-run partnership between the two batsmen and Himanshu Mantri was clean bowled in the over by bowler Shams Mulani. He scored 37 runs in 55 balls with the help of three fours. After that Parth Sahani came to the crease.
Earlier, Yash Dubey (133), Shubham Sharma (116) and Patidar (122) had scored centuries in MP's first innings, due to which the team scored a huge score of 536 runs. At the same time, Saarsh Jain also contributed 57 runs with a half-century.
