Randeep Surejwala : Sonia Gandhi has asked Congress chiefs of 5 states to resign

In view of the defeat in five states, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday asked the PCC presidents of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur to submit their resignations to facilitate the reorganization of the PCC. Among them is Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu. Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surejwala tweeted this information. This step of Sonia Gandhi has come after the meeting of Congress leadership on Sunday.

The Congress Working Committee meeting was held on March 13, in which Sonia Gandhi has been approved to continue as the party president. According to Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Sonia Gandhi had also offered to resign along with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in the meeting, but it was rejected by the working committee members.
