Raksha Bandhan 2024 Bank Holiday: Raksha Bandhan is a famous festival among Hindus especially between brothers and sisters and is celebrated with great importance across India.

This year, Raksha Bandhan is observed on August 19 so banks in some cities across India will stay closed.

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, most of the private and public banks in India will stay closed on Monday, August 19.

RBI suggests that before visiting your respective banks, people should call them and confirm bank closure dates.

This will help customers complete their banking needs beforehand.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan today, August 19 banks will remain closed in Tripura (Agartala), Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal), Gujarat (Ahmedabad), Odisha (Bhubaneswar), Rajasthan (Jaipur), Uttarakhand (Dehradun), Himachal Pradesh (Shimla) and Uttar Pradesh (Kanpur & Lucknow).

Furthermore, Banks in Kerala will remain closed on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of ‘Sree Narayana Guru.

However, customers can still use online banking and ATMs to make transactions and meet other needs. These operations won’t be affected by the closure of banks and all online services will be done during this time.
