Rajya Sabha Election Result 2022 LIVE: Congress wins three seats in Rajasthan, BJP's Ghanshyam Tiwari wins

Voting took place on Friday for 16 Rajya Sabha seats in four states. Following complaints from BJP and Congress, the commission has stopped counting in Haryana for the time being. The result has also been withheld in Rajasthan. A BJP delegation has met the Election Commission and demanded that the elections in Maharashtra and Haryana be declared invalid. 

The fate of Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal, Congress candidates Randeep Surjewala, Jairam Ramesh, Mukul Wasnik and Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut will be decided in this election. Seven candidates are in the fray for six seats in Maharashtra. Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Anil Bonde, Dhananjay Mahadik from BJP, Praful Patel from NCP, Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena, Sanjay Pawar and Imran Pratapgarhi from Congress are in the fray for six seats.

In the Rajya Sabha elections, there has been a dispute from Rajasthan to Karnataka, from Maharashtra to Haryana. There has been a dent in the BJP camp in Rajasthan and Haryana. There is news of cross voting of two party MLAs. BJP MLAs Shobha Rani and Siddhi Kumari voted in favor of Congress candidate. At the same time, in Karnataka too, there are reports of two JDS MLAs voting for the Congress supported candidate. In Maharashtra, BJP has complained about Maha Vikas Aghadi. The party has alleged violation of the rules of the Election Commission. The party has complained to Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP.
