Rajasthan: ‘Used to feel lagged behind Gujarat,’ says Gehlot as PM inaugurates various projects

New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Wednesday compared the Thar state with Gujarat saying that they are catching up with the latter in terms of development.

Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Congress-ruled Rajasthan, CM Gehlot said, “Earlier we used to compete with Gujarat and used to feel that we are lagging behind but now we have moved forward,” said Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot.
“I am happy that PM will dedicate national highway and railway projects today… Good works have happened in Rajasthan, roads are good in Rajasthan,” he added.

He further said, “I am happy to say that due to the good governance of our government, Rajasthan has reached the second number in the country in terms of economic development. I keep writing letters to you (PM Modi) regarding the pending demands of our state and will continue to write.”
