Rajasthan to go on ‘Jan AnushasanPakhwara’ to combat steep rise in Covid-19 cases in the state

The Rajasthan government declared a ‘Jan AnushasanPakhwara’ also being called the Public Discipline Fortnight, on Sunday. The decision was made on a day when the state's new Covid-19 infections surpassed 10,000. As of Sunday, there were 67,135 active cases, with 42 casualties which has been the largest number yet, bringing the official death count to 3,151.
The regulations, according to Gehlot, will take effect on Monday and will last until 5 a.m. on May 3rd. The proposal to introduce restrictions was made late Sunday at a high-level meeting.
Chief Minister Ashok Geholt took to twitter to announce all requisites for the ‘Jan AnushasanPakhwara’.

The ‘Jan AnushasanPakhwara’ is not being considered as a curfew nor a lockdown, but it is more on the lines of an enlargement of the already in place curfew in Rajasthan.
Numerous doctors urged Rajasthan's Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to enact a lockout at a Covid review meeting before the decision was confirmed, claiming that it was the state's only opportunity to do so before the rising cases overwhelmed the state's health infrastructure.
Government officials, police officers, Home Guards, fire service officials, public transportation employees, municipal authorities, sanitation workers, health professionals, and medics travelling with identification cards will not face any travelling constraints, according to the guidelines.
Food wholesalers and retailers, along with mandis, market places for fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and fodder selling places will be allowed to stay open until 5 p.m. While fruit and vegetable vendors will be permitted to sell until 7 p.m..
Those entering the state would need to show proof of a negative RT-PCR test that was performed within 72 hours of their departure for travelling.
To "stop migrant movement," all manufacturing and construction-related units will be allowed to operate.
Those in the telephone, internet, mail, messenger, radio, and cable industries, as well as IT and IT-enabled serviceswill continue to operate as normal. Along with thatbanks, ATMs, and insurance offices will remain open for service.
All schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain shut till May 3rd. But, candidates will be allowed to take competitive tests that have already been announced.
No gatherings of political, social, cultural or religious nature will be allowed. Multiplexes, cinema halls along with gyms will remain shut for this period.
