Smriti Irani, Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development, has alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi declared war on the people of India.
Irani, who is also an MP from Amethi Lok Sabha Constituency, while addressing a press conference at BJP headquarters in New Delhi, said that for the first time in the history of India, a Congress leader asked for more violence instead of a call for peace.
“On 26th January, over 300 police personnel got injured in the riots, while some journalists suffered injuries too,” Irani said.
She added that despite all the violence, Rahul Gandhi didn’t say a single word of consolation for a single policeman.
She also said that Rahul Gandhi didn’t say a single word of condolence about the media persons who were attacked.
“In his press conference today, Rahul Gandhi announced that the country would see the 26th January riots replicated in every city and even into slums. He said that if his political stand is not supported by the PM of our country, then cities will burn!” Irani said.
She appealed to every Indian citizen to ensure that Rahul Gandhi's call for violence is met with sustained peace.
Just before Irani’s press conference, Rahul Gandhi suggested to the Prime Minister of India that the only solution to avoid a standoff with farmers is to put the three agricultural laws “in the wastepaper basket.”
He cautioned the government that it should not think that the farmers will return to their villages. He said that on the contrary the situation will worsen and to avoid that the government should start a conversation with them.
