Rohit, who just recently announced his retirement from Test cricket, was presented by the Mumbai Cricket Association along with Ajit Wadekar and Sharad Pawar, who all received the unique honour of having a stand named after them at the historic ground.
Dravid, who Rohit made his international debut under as captain and whom India won the 2024 T20 World Cup under, shared a heartfelt and humorous video message in tribute to Rohit.

"Hey Rohit. Guess you hit so many sixes into those stands that they had to name one after you!" Dravid began, drawing smiles from fans.

He continued with admiration: "I’m sure as a young boy going into the iconic Wankhede Stadium — truly one of the great stadiums in the world — you would’ve wanted to have some great performances there, which you have done. I’m not sure you dreamt about having a stand named after you, but that it has come to that — it’s a just reward for your contribution to both Mumbai and Indian cricket.”
Adding a cheeky twist, Dravid signed off with a classic punchline: "And when I’m short on tickets in Mumbai — now that you have a stand — I know who to contact.”
