Questions raised on Sanjay Rathod's entry, BJP cited suicide case
The minister was alleged that Pooja Chavan, a native of Beed district of Maharashtra, was living with her brother and her friends in Pune to take an English language learning course. The woman allegedly committed suicide on February 8.

Questions are being raised on the inclusion of rebel Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Rathod in the Maharashtra cabinet. This is the first time after the formation of the government of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and BJP, when questions are being raised from the BJP on Shinde's decision. BJP's state unit vice-president Chitra Wagh has raised questions by tweeting. She wrote that 'It is very unfortunate that Sanjay Rathod, who caused the death of Maharashtra's daughter Pooja Chavan, has been given the post of minister again I will continue my fight against him.'

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has defended his decision on the whole incident. Chief Minister Shinde said, "He (Rathod) was given a clean chit during the MVA government, so he has been included in the cabinet. The police had given him a clean chit. If anyone has anything to say on this, then his point can also be heard. An old video of Kirit Somaiya, a BJP leader since Sanjay Rathod became a minister, is becoming increasingly viral in which he said that the suicide was actually a "murder" committed by Sanjay Rathod. Somaiya, who attended today's swearing-in ceremony, however, did not comment on the issue.
Sanjay Rathod, who was the Forest Minister of Maharashtra, had to step down due to allegations made by the then opposition BJP. He was accused of being related to the suicide case of a 23-year-old woman in Pune. The minister was alleged that Pooja Chavan, a native of Beed district of Maharashtra, was living with her brother and her friends in Pune to take an English language learning course. The woman allegedly committed suicide on February 8.
