Proud to get top ranking for Jadavpur and Calcutta University: Mamata Banerjee
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted, "I am proud that Jadavpur University and Calcutta University have secured first and second positions among state funded universities in the country as per NIRF-2022 India Rankings.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she is proud that Jadavpur University and Calcutta University have been ranked in the top two list of state-funded universities in the 'NIRF India Ranking 2022'. The same Education Minister Vratya Basu attributed this achievement to Banerjee's "visionary leadership". The Chief Minister tweeted, “I am proud that Jadavpur University and Calcutta University have been ranked first and second among state funded universities in the country as per NIRF-2022 India Rankings.
St. Xavier has got the eighth position in the college. Best wishes to the academic community and students." In the overall ranking of universities, Jadavpur has been ranked fourth and Calcutta University has been ranked eighth. Last year, Calcutta University was ranked fourth and Jadavpur eighth. The Education Minister said that Mamata Banerjee's visionary leadership has again proved itself. Calcutta University vice-chancellor Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee told PTI that the rank was achieved because of the consistent academic excellence of the teachers. She said that this rank will motivate us to do better. Partha Pratim Roy, general secretary of Jadavpur University Teachers' Association, said that it is a proud moment for the university.
