Priyanka Chopra backs Diljit Dosanjh, calls farmers India’s food soldier

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has backed singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concern for farmers. The Actress has retweeted a tweet in which Dosanjh posted two pictures.

In one picture while a man is serving food to policemen while in another one a policeman is offering food to farmers.

Dosanjh has posted a message that no religion teaches fighting.

Priyanka has retweeted it with her comments in support of the ongoing farmers’ protest and said that that if farmers have any doubt, it should be removed.

“Our farmers are India’s Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met,” Priyanka said.

She added that as a thriving democracy, the government must ensure that the crisis is resolved sooner than later.”

Priyanka’s tweet comes as a setback to actress Kangana Ranaut who is engaged in an ugly battle with Dosanjh on farmers’ issue.

Ranaut supports the government stand as she is of the view that farmers are misled by some motivated elements to protest and the three farm laws. According to her, these laws are in farmers’ interest.

Ranaut also courted huge controversy after she wrongly posted a picture of a demonstrator and identified her as one of the leading faces of Delhi's Shaheen Bagh anti CAA protest.

Ranaut even alleged that she had joined the protest for the sake of just ₹ 100. The actress was trolled on social networking site for that.

Besides a handful of actors, Bollywood is mainly quiet on this issue as by taking a stand of farmers’ protests, they don’t want to get embroiled in a controversy of pro and anti-government stand.
