From April 1, the academic session 2022-23 has started in all schools in the capital through offline medium. After two years, due to the opening of the school through offline medium, now the transportation fee is having a great impact on the pockets of the parents after the uniform and books. Private schools have increased the transport fee by 35 to 40 percent from this session. Due to which the budget of the parents has been spoiled.
Principals of schools say that after the closure of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses, they have to take the bus facility of private bus and van operators from outside. He said that he cannot do anything regarding the increase in the price of buses. Because these prices have been increased only after the increase in the price of diesel. According to him, if the government starts the DTC facility again, then there will definitely be a difference in the transport charges and the parents will not have to bear the burden on their pocket.
Delhi Parents Association chairman Aparajita Gautam said most private schools in the capital charge huge sums in the name of transport costs. Schools have increased their prices three to four times. Students who have two or three children studying, their entire budget has been ruined. He said that in many schools, parents have also deposited the transportation fee, but the school bus does not arrive in time to pick up or drop off the child. At the same time, schools have also reduced the number of buses.
