Hanoi, Sep 27 (AP) A curfew was imposed in Vietnam on Tuesday after authorities evacuated nearly eight lakh people to safer places after storm 'Noru' caused severe flooding in several villages. At least eight people have died in the Philippines due to the storm.
According to official television 'VTV', people living nearby have been ordered to take shelter in emergency camps as storm 'Noru' is expected to hit the coast on Wednesday.
Schools have been closed and public events canceled due to the storm. Curfew will remain in force in Da Nang and Quang provinces from Tuesday evening.
According to 'VTV', no one will be allowed to step out of the house except those on official duty during the curfew.
In addition, flights were canceled and train services were suspended at five regional airports.
According to the Meteorological Agency, in view of 'Noru', winds will blow at a speed of 180 kmph.
