Pratyusha Banerjee's Parents On Facing Financial Issues: 'We've Lost Everything'
Parents are fighting her case, Pratyusha's father has shared everything they're going through.

In 2016, when the demise news of Pratyusha Banerjee came out, her family, friends and fans were heartbroken. The Balika Vadhu actor died of suicide and was found hanging in her Mumbai apartment. Her parents had blamed the late actor's then-boyfriend, actor Rahul Raj Singh, for her death. Since then, her parents have been fighting her case, but they are now facing financial difficulties.
Shankar Banerjee, Pratyusha Banerjee's father, said that the legal case had depleted their finances, and they are now living in a one-room house. Mr Banerjee told Aaj Tak, "After this accident, it seems as if some terrible storm has come and has taken everything away from us. We did not have a single penny left with us. We have lost everything while fighting in the second case. We are now forced to live in one room."
Shankar Banerjee went on to say that the case had cost them everything. He revealed that their financial position had become so dire that they had to take out loans. Soma Banerjee, Pratyusha Banerjee's mother, works at a child care centre while Shankar writes stories. Pratyusha's father has stated that he will not give up on seeking justice for his daughter.
In the case of Rahul Raj Singh, the Bombay High Court granted him anticipatory bail three months after Pratyusha's death. Rahul Raj said that he and Pratyusha had planned to marry in December 2016 but that her parents' meddling caused her to be "deeply disturbed and frustrated." He married TV actress Saloni Sharma in 2018. Rahul stated that he wants to move on from his grief over Pratyusha's death and begin his own family.
About standing by Rahul Raj Singh's side, Saloni Sharma earlier told TOI, "When I saw the mental torture that Rahul was undergoing, what with all the baseless allegations and false cases, I decided to stand by him again. It took us a while to understand that we were always meant to be together, despite such a major crisis that we both survived. Now, after seven-and-a-half years of knowing each other and having gone through all the ups and downs, we realised that it is about time we took the plunge."
