People suffering from pollution-borne diseases are reaching the doctors. Eye irritation, asthma patients, breathing problems have become common problems. The air quality in Delhi remained in the 'very poor' category for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. Today the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi is 382. Boats are being used and water sprinkling is being done to remove the toxic foam in the Yamuna river.
Pollution is also in serious condition in Ghaziabad-Noida, adjacent to Rajghani. Yesterday the AQ1 in Ghaziabad stood at 412. So while AQI 451 was recorded in Noida, on Monday it was AQI 486 in Agra, AQI 430 in Faridabad, AQI 412 in Greater Noida, AQI 368 in Gurugram and AQI 426 in Noida.Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai on Tuesday said that the second phase of the anti-dust campaign to check air pollution will be conducted from November 12 to December 12. The government should also launch a campaign against open burning of garbage from November 11 to December 11.
