Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today and discussed about promoting religious sites, adventure tourism, eco-tourism and cultural heritage of the state.

Police in Uttarakhand reaching out to public and tourism: Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today and discussed about promoting religious sites, adventure tourism, eco-tourism and cultural heritage of the state.
Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat also posted on X and said he met CM Dhami.
Taking to his official handle on X, Chief Minister Dhami posted, "Met Union Minister of Culture and Tourism @gssjodhpurji at the government residence. Wished and congratulated him on the festival of lights, Deepawali on this occasion."

"There was a discussion with him regarding the promotion of the religious places, adventure tourism, eco-tourism and cultural heritage of the state at the national and international level. Along with this, requested the Union Minister for cooperation from the centre to develop infrastructure in view of the increasing population in the state," he added.
The force has added 77 new police stations and 216 new posts to reach out to the growing population and tourism of the state, said the statement.
Earlier law and order was handled by regular police and revenue police. But with increasing demands 92% of the population is now under regular police force which has 25,000 personnel. This includes PAC, IRBs, SDRF, fire brigade, intelligence, CID, STF and GRP.
SDRF was created after 2013 Kedarnath disaster and has been very useful with 5 companies and 40 posts now active in disaster relief. Cybercrime units in Dehradun and Pantnagar and cyber cells in every district is the force’s response to the emerging crime trends.

Uttarakhand Police is getting recognition too. Union Home Ministry recently ranked Banbasa police station in Champawat district among top 3 out of 16,955 police stations in the country. Force has been consistently ranked first among the Himalayan states in crime control and has achieved top marks for two consecutive years in property recovery after theft. In 2022, police has achieved 55.2% conviction rate.
Earlier today CM Dhami attended 115th edition of PM’s Mann Ki Baat at ISBT Dehradun and said that under PM Narendra Modi India has made great progress towards self-reliance.
CM Dhami remarked, "Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India is advancing rapidly towards self-reliance. Today, India is emerging as a strong, prosperous, and developed nation with a distinct identity on the global stage."
CM said PM mentioned about digital security in Mann Ki Baat and asked everyone in the state to be cautious about digital safety, advising, "Do not act impulsively on unknown phone calls, and never share personal information with strangers.
