Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the bedrock of the 594-km Ganga Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district. It is said that upon the completion of work, will become the longest expressway of Uttar Pradesh, connecting the Western and Eastern UP.

It is said that upon the completion of work, will become the longest expressway of Uttar Pradesh, connecting the Western and Eastern UP. Initially, the expressway is estimated to be six-lane but is expandable up to eight-lane.
The expressway will commence near Bijauli village in Meerut, and continue till Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj. It will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj districts of the Uttar Pradesh state. Once completed, this expressway will be the longest one in the state.
According to a recent tweet by PIB, the Prime Minister stated that "For any nation to progress in the 21st century, high-speed connectivity is imperative leading to faster delivery of goods and generation of income. Ganga Expressway will boost the development of Uttar Pradesh."
