Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the extension project of ArcelorMittal's Hazira Steel Plant in Gujarat on Friday, 28 October. Sources gave this information on Wednesday. According to sources, "Prime Minister Modi is the chief guest at the Bhoomi Pujan for the extension project of Hazira Steel Plant of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India on October 28, 2022."
Apart from the Prime Minister, Union Steel Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and ArcelorMittal Executive Chairman Lakshmi Mittal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aditya Mittal will attend the event, he said. Sources said that government and company officials are also expected to attend the event.

AMNS said on October 6 that it has received environmental clearance for the expansion of the plant at Hazira, about 275 km from state capital Ahmedabad.
