On a Sunday, September 22, PM Narendra Modi met internet sensation and rapper Hanumankind at the ‘Modi and US’ event at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. This was during his 3 day visit to the US. He also met the other talented artists Aditya Gadhvi and Devi Sri Prasad who performed at this international event.

On a Sunday, September 22, PM Narendra Modi met the internet sensation and rapper Hanumankind at the ‘Modi and US’ event at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. This was during his 3 day visit to the US. He also met the other talented artists Aditya Gadhvi and Devi Sri Prasad who performed at this event.

Singer Aditya Gadhvi also performed in front of PM Modi and 13,500 people. Aditya was a sensation last year with his song Khalasi which “tells the story of the limitless sailor who has set out to explore the shores of Gujarat”. Composer Devi Sri Prasad who has given music for films like Pushpa: The Rise and Waltair Veerayya was also present at the event and met PM Modi.
The sounds of the Parai filled the air as members of the Indian diaspora from Tamil Nadu showcased their culture at the event. The beats and melodies filled the atmosphere with tradition and history. Before PM Modi’s speech a group performed Mallakhamb, an ancient acrobatic art form from Maharashtra.
Against the backdrop of Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York the performers flexed their muscles and left the audience in wonder of this Indian art form.
HanuMankind is fast becoming a name to reckon with in mainstream hip-hop with songs like Big Dawgs, Rush Hour, Genghis and Go To Sleep. Sooraj spent his childhood in Texas and has brought in Texas sounds in the Big Dawgs music video, a perfect blend of desi and global.
