PM Modi will present many projects including Atal Bridge on his 2 day visit to Gujarat from today
The total length of this canal is about 357 km. One part of the canal was inaugurated by the Prime Minister in the year 2017 and the rest part is being inaugurated now. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat on 27 August i.e. on a two-day visit from today. During this, he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of several projects in Ahmedabad and Bhuj. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has given this information in a statement. The PMO said that PM Modi will inaugurate the Atal Bridge on the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad on Saturday. After this, he will also address the Khadi Utsav function organized on the riverfront.
In the Khadi festival, 7500 women Khadi artisans from different districts of Gujarat will be seen spinning the charkha at the same time and at the same place. An exhibition will also be held at the event, showcasing 22 charkhas from different generations in use since the 1920s. These will also include charkhas like the Yervada charkha, which symbolizes the charkhas used during the freedom struggle.
PM will visit Kutch district on August 28. Here he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of about a dozen projects including Smriti Van. Smriti Van is a museum built on the Bhujio hill near Bhuj town in Kutch district as a tribute to the more than 13,000 people killed in the Gujarat earthquake on 26 January 2001. The dream of this museum was seen by PM Modi when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. However, his dream is now coming true. Smriti Van is built in an area of 470 acres.
PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones of projects worth about Rs 4400 crore in Bhuj. It also includes the Kutch branch canal of the Sardar Sarovar Project.
