Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release financial assistance under 'PM Cares for Children' to the children orphaned due to Corona epidemic on Monday. The Ministry of Women and Child Development said that in this program to be organized through video conferencing, the beneficiary children will be present along with their parents and district magistrates of the respective district.
The government had launched this scheme on May 29 last year. Under this, children who have lost their parents, legal guardian, adoptive parents or one of the parents due to the corona epidemic between March 11, 2020 to February 28, 2022 are provided.
Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh will be given to each victim child. Children will get this amount when they turn 23 years old. Apart from this, the government makes arrangements for the living and food of the orphaned children as well as education. The government will provide education loan to these children for higher education. An insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh has also been given to each child.
