PM Modi Welcomes Qatar Amir at Delhi Airport in Special Gesture: In a rare gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Amir Of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani on Monday evening at Delhi airport.
The two leaders were seen engaged in conversation with warm embrace. S. Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs, was also present to receive him.

Hamad Al-Thani, on a state visit to India, would meet President Droupadi Murmu and PM Modi for talks on Tuesday. His two-day visit comes at the invitation of Prime Minister Modi. This will be the second state visit of the Amir of Qatar to India. He had visited India earlier in March 2015.
According to the MEA, the visit will "further add momentum to our growing multifaceted partnership". In addition, he will be accompanied by a high-level delegation consisting of ministers, senior officials, and a business delegation, noted the MEA's statement.
As per the media advisory, EAM Jaishankar will call on him on Monday evening upon his arrival. Ceremonial reception of the Amir of Qatar will be held in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday morning, followed by his meeting with Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House.

Discussions will take place in regards to wide array of topics concerning bilateral relations, the MEA mentioned in the statement this Saturday.
After the exchange of MoUs, the Amir of Qatar will pay a visit to President Murmu on Tuesday, according to the advisory.
India and Qatar maintain deep-rooted historical ties of friendship, trust and mutual respect. Over the past many years, the relationship has continued to grow in several areas such as trade, investment, energy, technology, culture, and people-to-people relations.
According to the MEA, the Indian community in Qatar constitutes the largest expatriate community in Qatar and is “appreciated for its positive contribution to the advancement and development of Qatar".
