PM Modi talks to Putin, expresses concern over the safety of Indian citizens trapped in Ukraine

Russia's attack on Ukraine has created panic all over the world including India. Thousands of Indian students who have gone to study in Ukraine are trapped there, efforts are being made to rescue them. A high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on the Ukraine crisis was held on Thursday. After this PM Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Putin briefed Prime Minister Modi on the recent developments regarding Ukraine. The PM reiterated his long-standing belief that differences between Russia and NATO can only be resolved through honest dialogue. According to the PMO, PM Modi appealed to Putin to stop the violence and tension immediately. He called on all sides to make efforts to return to the path of diplomatic dialogue.
